New Website at Bard College With Digital Copies from Hannah Arendt's Library

The website of the Arendt Personal Library at Bard College, New York, has been relaunched in a new form. Digitized copies of the books in Arendt's possession are published on an ongoing basis. In addition to scans of works by other authors from Arendt's reference library, various editions of Arendt's texts with her notes can be accessed online.

News from Mar 12, 2024

The Arendt Personal Library contains around 4,000 books and smaller publications from her estate, over 900 of them with Arendt's annotations and notes. Arendt's library was acquired by Bard College after her death with the help of various supporters. Funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the holdings were cataloged. The collection is currently being digitized by the Stevenson Library at Bard College.
